Peace of mind is a precious thing, and we found it with R.J. Connelly's combination of specialized professional training and exceptional personal qualities. We had already had an unsatisfactory experience of estate planning with another lawyer, who came well recommended. One should probably expect any lawyer to be bright, articulate, and knowledgeable but we also found RJ to be personable, patient, and thorough in listening to what we wanted, and then clear and imaginative in suggesting how to achieve it. He carefully discussed alternatives, and always clarifies points that we found unclear. There was no rush in compiling a comprehensive plan that appears to lessen taxes to the estate and to ease transitions for the survivors. His entire staff was also courteous, helpful, and efficient. RJ & his staff are outstanding! My mother has Alzheimer's and had to be placed in a nursing home because we were no longer able to care for her, at the same time my father was diagnosed w/cancer, heart & kidney failure. At this emotional and stressful time, we found ourselves trying to find our way through the process of Medicare applications, wills, medical and financial power of attorneys- all of which are overwhelming and extremely difficult to understand. We tried to research the process of all of those things but found ourselves more confused with all the different laws, regulations and certainly a lot of misinformation it seemed impossible. We called RJ and set up a consultation to go over our situation, that was the best decision we could have made. RJ listened to what our needs were and immediately we found ourselves at ease. RJ showed us not only empathy for what we were going through but took the time to answer all our questions. RJ did exactly as promised, he took care of everything for both my mother and father from beginning to end in a way that we could clearly understand. If anyone finds themselves seeking answers and trying to understand the process of what is the right way/legal way to do anything from Medicare to wills, I would give them RJ's number. I live quite a distance from Connecticut, with three children, so dropping in on my mother was not an easy endeavor. When I received a call from her bank telling me that her account had been compromised and there were several withdrawals that appeared to be fraudulent, I was beside myself. Although she valued her ability to live in her home, by herself, was it now time for me to arrange for assisted living or maybe nursing care? She would be devastated. I looked at Attorney Connelly's website and loved what I saw - it was informative, understandable and clear. I called him the following day and he discussed what he could do to help.
