Southern New England's Certified Elder Law Attorney

Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts Certified Elder Law Attorney

Bethany Watson - Paralegal

Beth began her work at Connelly Law as a legal secretary, coming to the firm after a successful career in the business and retail world.  She is an active volunteer as a troop leader and service unit manager for Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England and is highly passionate about the Girl Scout mission and helping to develop strong, independent women of tomorrow.

What keeps her going?  “I train my mind to focus on conquering setbacks or difficult projects instead of letting these challenges consume me. If you believe you will accomplish what you set out to do, you are likely to take the necessary actions to succeed,” said Beth.

Working under Attorney Connelly has helped Beth develop a strong, foundational skill set when it comes to elder law.  “When you work with one of the best in the elder law field, it helps you become even better at your role in the firm.  You tend to absorb your supervisor’s skills, knowledge, analytical ability, elder law practice approaches, and work habits.”

As the paralegal, Beth sees herself as just a part of a well-running team.  “From RJ to the file clerk, each role is integral and interdependent.  There really is no room for a weak link in a law firm team.  What makes our team stand out is that we all have a true love of the profession, a respect for the importance of teamwork, a deep desire to help our clients, and the ability to make a difference in their lives.”

A paralegal is an indispensable part of the legal system, especially when it comes to elder law, and Beth is an indispensable part of our team.  In this role, Beth provides support to Attorney Connelly, other law offices, the courts and of course, the heart and soul of the practice, our clients.

Paralegals play an integral role in the delivery of legal services to our clients.  While she does perform a number of administrative tasks, Beth routinely goes above and beyond this responsibility and assumes some of the managing attorney’s workload.  To do this and do this well, it requires an advanced understanding of the legal system and the inner workings of the court.
